Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες η επιθυμία του Νίκου Παππά θα γίνει πραγματικότητα, καθώς ο Έλληνας γκαρντ θα συνεχίσει την καριέρα του στον Παναθηναϊκό και θα ολοκληρώσει την πορεία του στα παρκέ φορώντας τη φανέλα του «τριφυλλιού».

Με ανακοίνωσή της η ΚΑΕ Παναθηναϊκός γνωστοποίησε το τέλος της συνεργασίας της με τους Πρίφτη, Διαμαντίδη, Παππά και Τριαντόπουλο λόγω «αποτυχίας στο οικονομικό και το αγωνιστικό πλάνο της ομάδας».
